Fertility reflexology is a natural way to assist in helping to prepare the body for conception.

Treatments are tailored to each individual & will aim to:

  • Restore balance to irregular menstrual cycles

  • Aid in PCOS/fibroids/endometriosis

  • Reduce symptoms of PMS

It is recommended to have a course of treatments & to chart your cycle to gain a better understanding of any possible hormonal imbalances and to evaluate improvements. Gini is a fertility awareness educator, having trained with The Natural Family Planning Teachers Association & plays a very supportive role in this process, guiding clients through to make the process with relaxed and easy.

Cycle Charting

Charting is a powerful tool to accompany a course of reflexology when trying to conceive.

If you are not in Ibiza but would like to learn the method, there is an option to work online together. You can get in touch with me through the contact page.

The technical name for charting your cycle is called ‘The symptothermal double check method’. It is a fertility awareness based method which relies upon learning to observe the subtle changes that happen in a woman’s body during her menstrual cycle. There are various types of fertility awareness methods, but the symptothermal method specifically, relies on three observations; these are temperature, cervical mucus and cervix position.“Sympto-thermal” means that at least two indicators are used to define the fertile time. Double-Check refers to the fact that both the opening and the closing of the fertile window are both double-checked against another fertility sign or calculation.

  1. The “Symptom” is the mucus which reveals the onset of ovarian activity and the start of the fertile phase. Observations of the cervix position is optional.

  2. The “Thermal” is the temperature rise in the cycle. It indicates that the ovum has been released into the fallopian tube, which is the end of the fertile phase.

Whereas men are potentially fertile every time they have sex, a woman only has a small fertile window in each cycle, and because women can have varying patterns of fertility cycle to cycle, The Symptothermal Method allows you to get to understand when your fertile window opens and closes. Therefore it can be used to optimise your chances of conception, and also as a method of birth control.

The World Health Organisation’s definition is “methods of planning or preventing pregnancy based on the observation of naturally occurring signs of the fertile and infertile phases of the menstrual cycle. People who use NFP to avoid or delay pregnancy, abstain from sexual intercourse on potentially fertile days. Those wanting to achieve pregnancy use NFP to identify the fertile phase and hence maximize the probability of pregnancy.” WHO (1988), NFP stands for Natural Family Planning and is another name for The Symptothermal Method.

Every woman is different, with her own unique cycle. When you understand how to observe your fertile signs you can determine when you ovulate and when you are most fertile, which will go towards optimising your chances of conception. There are a lot of apps on the market these days which can help you to track your cycle. However these work on an algorithm and could be feeding you misinformation. Learning to observe and interpret the signs from your body will provide you with much more accurate information, providing you with more confidence.
